We know that you care how information about you is used and shared and we appreciate your trust in us to do that carefully and sensibly.
This policy describes the types of personal information that we may collect about you, the purposes for which we use the information, the circumstances in which we may share the information and the steps that we take to safeguard the information to protect your privacy.
THE POLICY
As used throughout this policy, the term “Resste” refers to Resste Holding Pte. Ltd. UEN No. 202008397N (we, our and us).
Resste is bound by the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“the PDPA”) and by other applicable laws which govern privacy. We may amend or update our Privacy Policy at any time and will publish any updated policy on the Resste website. We encourage you to check the Resste website regularly to ensure that you are aware of the terms of our current Privacy Policy. By visiting Resste and submitting any personal information to us (whether via our website, social media or otherwise), you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT YOU DOES RESSTE COLLECT?
The information we gather from you helps us to continually improve your experience with Resste.
This personal information may include the following :
(a) Name and identification information (such as your NRIC number);
(b) Contact information (such as your address, email address or telephone number);
(c) Nationality;
(d) Gender;
(e) Date of birth;
(f) Marital status;
(g) Photographs and other audio-visual information;
(h) Employment information; and
(i) Financial information such as credit card numbers, debit card numbers or bank account information.
We may also collect the following information :
(j) Information that becomes part of the personal information we hold about you
such as your account on our website (“Website”) and/or mobile applications (“App”), your usage of our Website and/or App, social media pages, and the products that you purchase from us.
(k) Social media and third party service providers
We may also collect and use personal information you provide when interacting with us via social media, when you enter competitions, or when you participate in promotions or events.
This information may be collected by us directly, or by a third party on our behalf, and may include your photos, comments and experiences you provide or share with us. If you provide
personal information to us via third parties or social media platforms, your personal information will be managed in accordance with the privacy policy in use by that third party, in addition to our own Privacy Policy.
If you share your contact information with us via Facebook, Instagram or other social media channel in response to a promotion by us, we may contact you to market our products unless you opt out of marketing communications (by sending an email to compliance@housebell.com).
(l) Sensitive Information
The term “sensitive information” in this context refers to information related to your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious beliefs or affiliations, philosophical beliefs, membership of a professional or trade association, membership of a trade union, sexual orientation or practices or criminal record, or your health information, genetic information that is otherwise not health information, or biometric information or templates. Whilst we do not generally collect sensitive information unless it is volunteered by you, we do specifically collect health data to the extent that it is required for the purposes of data analytics and/or otherwise the assessment of your property preferences.
2. WHY DO WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM YOU AND HOW DO WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION?
The main types of personal information Resste collects and the main purposes for which personal information is collected, used, held and disclosed are set out below:
(a) We use personal information to provide the services you request from Resste such as to facilitate: administration of your account on our Website and/or App, to manage our relationship with you, to communicate with you and assist you with queries and to facilitate transactions and/or communication with our own or third party service providers.
(b) We may also use the information to: advertise products and services, to carry out market data analysis so that we can continue to deliver enhanced services, to process payments and maintain accounts and records, to prevent crime and aid in the prosecution of offenders, to comply with the law, and to administer and maintain records of your account on our Website and/or App.
(c) In addition, we use this information to improve our Website and/or App, prevent or detect fraud or abuses of our Website and/or App and enable third parties to carry out technical, logistical or other functions on our behalf. As part of conducting our business, personal information may also be used to maintain and develop our business systems, including testing and upgrading them.
(d) We also use your details to send you newsletters and promotions, and to conduct online surveys or surveys by telephone; prize draws; competitions and other promotions via email, social media, telephone, WhatsApp or post.
(e) Any other purposes for which you have provided the information;
(f) We will also use the information in the course of collecting payments (if any) in connection with our Website and/or App and any other payments that may be due to us from you. If you apply for employment at Restte, we use the personal information you supply to process your job application.
(g) This Privacy Policy does not apply to acts and practices in relation to employee records of our current and former employees, which are exempt from the PDPA.
(h) We use social media platforms to undertake marketing activities to offer you products and services that we legitimately feel may be of interest to you, to generate leads and to drive traffic to our website. To do this we may use limited personal information of yours, such as your email address, with social media platforms.
(i) We do not control how social media platforms use your personal information so please be sure to direct any questions around how your social media platforms use or store your personal information to that social media platform. You may opt out of these marketing activities at any time by sending an email to compliance@housebell.com)
Other than as set out in this Privacy Policy we will not share your personal information with third parties for marketing or any other purposes without your consent, unless we are required to do so by law. We operate an automatic opt-in policy which means that when you request information from us or make an enquiry we add you to our database.
3. IN WHAT CIRCUMSTANCES MAY RESSTE DISCLOSE PERSONAL INFORMATION?
Information about our users is an important part of our business and we do not sell it to others. Resste discloses member information in connection with the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. We only disclose personal information as described below.
(a) Where such disclosure is required for performing obligations in the course of or in connection with our provision of the goods or services requested by you;
(b) To third party service providers, agents and other organisations we have engaged to perform any of the functions listed in clause 2 above for us.
(c) Complying with any applicable laws, regulations, codes of practice, guidelines, or rules, or to assist in law enforcement and investigations conducted by any governmental and/or regulatory authority;
The aforesaid purposes may continue to apply even in situations where your relationship with us has been terminated or altered in any way, for a reasonable period thereafter.
4. WITHDRAWING YOUR CONSENT
(a) The consent that you provide for the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Data will remain valid until such time it is being withdrawn by you in writing.
(b) You may withdraw consent and request us to stop using and/or disclosing your Personal Data for any or all of the purposes listed in 3 above by submitting your request to compliance@housebell.com.
(c) Upon receipt of your written request to withdraw your consent, we may require reasonable time (depending on the complexity of the request and its impact on our relationship with you) for your request to be processed and for us to notify you of the consequences of us acceding to the same, including any legal consequences which may affect your rights and liabilities to us. In general, we shall seek to process your request within ten (10) business days of receiving it.
(d) Whilst we respect your decision to withdraw your consent, please note that depending on the nature and scope of your request, we may not be in a position to continue providing the use of our Website and/or App to you and we shall, in such circumstances, notify you before completing the processing of your request. Should you decide to cancel your withdrawal of consent, please inform us in writing compliance@housebell.com.
Withdrawing consent does not affect our right to continue to collect, use and disclose Personal Data where such collection, use and disclose without consent is permitted or required under applicable laws.
5. HOW SECURE IS INFORMATION ABOUT ME?
(a) Your Personal Data is treated as private, confidential information which we strive to ensure that it remains protected and kept secure at all times. We will take all commercially reasonable steps in line with industry practice to protect your Personal Data, such as up-to- date antivirus protection, encryption and the use of privacy filters to secure all storage and transmission of Personal Data by us, and disclosing Personal Data both internally and to our authorised third party service providers and agents only on a need-to-know basis. We cannot assume responsibility for any unauthorised use of your personal data by third parties which are wholly attributable to factors beyond our control.
(b) However, as you are aware, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and extensive security measures may hinder efficient/prompt communication. To facilitate communication, e-mail is a frequently used mode of communication and unless you object we may use unencrypted plain text e-mails for our communication with you. While security cannot be guaranteed, we strive to protect the security of your information and are constantly reviewing and enhancing our information security measures.
6. ACCURACY OF PERSONAL DATA
We generally rely on Personal Data provided by you (or your authorised representative). In order to ensure that your Personal Data is current, complete and accurate, please update us if there are changes to your Personal Data by informing us at compliance@housebell.com.
7. HOW CAN I ACCESS OR CORRECT MY PERSONAL INFORMATION OR MAKE A COMPLAINT?
If you wish to:
(a) verify our use of your Personal Data;
(b) exercise your right to access, verify, amend, erase or block your Personal Data;
(c) submit a written request for us to cease to process your Personal Data; or
(d) make a complaint under this Policy, please submit your request to us at compliance@housebell.com.
As permitted by applicable law, a fee reflective of the costs may be charged by us for each Personal Data access request made which right of access is subject to the exceptions prescribed under the applicable law.
We will respond to your request as soon as reasonably possible. Should we not be able to respond to your request within thirty (30) days after receiving your request, we will inform you in writing within thirty (30) days of the time by which we will be able to respond to your request. If we are unable to provide you with any Personal Data or to make a correction requested by you, we shall generally inform you of the reasons why we are unable to do so (except where we are not required to do so under the PDPA).
8. OUR WEBSITE AND/OR APPLICATION
(a) There is no electronic means to automatically collect Personal Data from any visitor or user of our website. Information collected through our website will be the information voluntarily supplied by you if you contact us through our Website and/or App . This information is normally limited to your name and e-mail address and other information which you may voluntarily input. Our Website and/or App may however contain links to other websites which may collect your Personal Data and we do not assume the responsibility of any third party website operators for the contents of such websites and any Personal Data collected through such websites. We advise that you read the privacy policies of these websites before making an informed decision whether or not to provide your Personal Data to these operators.
(b) When you visit our Website and/or App our server will record your IP address together with the date, time and duration of your visit. The IP address enables us to identify which organisations have visited our Our Website and/or App. We use this information to compile statistical data on the use of our Our Website and/or App to track how users navigate through our site. We do this so we can evaluate and improve our Our Website and/or App .
(c) Our website may also allow third parties to download cookies to your device. These third party cookies are not under our control.
9. EFFECT OF POLICY AND CHANGES TO POLICY
(a) In providing any Personal Data to us, you consent to our collection, use or disclosure of that information in accordance with this Policy.
(b) This Policy applies in conjunction with any other notices, contractual clauses and consent clauses that apply in relation to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Data by us.
(c) We reserve the right to change, modify, delete or amend any part of this Policy from time to time without any prior notice and you are encouraged to make regular reference to this Policy. Your continued use of our services constitutes your acknowledgement and acceptance of such changes.
